We lost it when we received a call early morning 6 am from the port saying that our ship has completely sunken.
We were planning to drive the ship from Chiba To west of Shizuoka, but the ship started giving us troubles on the east of Shizuoka when we realized that there is a water leak in the engine bay from the propeller shaft. It wasn't bad at all. Worst case, the water level should have stayed at the position of the propeller but that did not seem to be the case. The ship got sunk after three days from the day of departure.
It was a whole mess, but whenever a tragedy happens, there is no reason to stop but to fix the problem, so we arranged all the required machines and help that we needed in order to lift up the ship from the bottom of the sea and dismantle it.
The engine was a:
Mitsubishi S6R2-MTk
A well maintained and completely serviced engine. It was truly a loss, but we did not give up yet. Once the engine was taken out from the vessel, we took it back to our yard to treat it and bring it back to life.
We took out all the water from the system and surprisingly , the crank was completely fine and the damage was not serious at all. All we had to then do is to continue on treating the engine with oil and diesel gas and wash the system from the water inside the engine.
